FAQ's
Who can be on the team?
Any student who is in 7th-12th grade and attends school in the Uintah Basin and surrounding areas.
Please note that we require students athletes to be students first. No F's and a minimum 2.0 GPA is required. Please talk to a coach if you have special accommodations.
When do I sign up?
The dates for sign ups vary each year, but they are usually late March to early April. There is a team kickoff meeting for riders and parents to answer questions and provide updated yearly team information. Watch for an announcement on location and time.
What is the signup process?
See the race page under "Registration" for a step-by-step guide to registering.
What do I need to be able to join the team?
You need to have an interest in riding bikes, a good attitude, commitment to the team- both practices and races, and the appropriate gear, including a bike, helmet and team race kit. (see equipment list for complete information)
If you have questions or concerns about the gear you need, please talk to a coach for more detailed information.
What about practices?
The JD (junior devo) and high school teams practice at least 2 days a week. Practices last anywhere from 1.5-2.5 hours depending on the time of year and weather. There are occasional Saturday "long" rides for those interested, but are not required and are generally for more advanced riders.
The teams try to practice in the same location to accommodate those who have racers on both teams.
The location varies each week and will be sent out prior to practice. Check the practice calendar page for more information.
Who rides with my student athlete?
All student athletes are divided into ride groups based on ability, skills and goals. Each ride group is lead by a ride leader and coach who are trained in safety, skills, and first aid. If you would like to become a ride leader, please talk to the head coach or team director for more information on requirements.
